If he had given me dozens of long stem red roses it could not have compared to this special gift, which I will treasure always.
Knowing my hubby, he must have planned this mini book for a little while and, in fact, he started this all by writing a poem and then breaking it down into the "pages" you see. I thought that was very clever.
As we would shop at Michael's, Jo-Anns and the scrapbook shops, he would quietly disappear, make his own purchases, and proceed to come home and work on the mini while I was upstairs in my own "cave". In fact, he even made a trip to one of the scrapbook stores to consult with the ladies there. Can you imagine not taking me along? They couldn't believe I let him go by himself to one of MY favorite places!
I knew something was going on since I wasn't even allowed to come downstairs unannounced. At one point, when he was close to finishing, he covered the part of our staircase that opens into the living room (where he worked) with cardboard! It was "top secret" and as hard as it was for me not to "investigate", I gave him his "alone" time.
Thank you, hon, for my beautiful gift. I will always treasure it. It truly touched my heart.
Now, the big question is...............HOW IS HE GOING TO TOP THAT NEXT YEAR? lol
Have a great day!

Oh Alice, you have the sweetest, most creative husband. I agree that something like that is better than a dozen roses....

Lucky you, Alice! That sweet gift probably earned extra credit for quite a few Valentines Days to come. Thanks for sharing.
